The Indian women cricket team’s tour of England has been temporarily pushed back. Originally due to start on the 25th of June, the tour was postponed after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced that no professional cricket is to be played in the country until at least the 1st of July due to COVID-19.

The two-week trip, which was set to end on the 9th of July, would have consisted of four ODIs and two T20 Internationals – with the Indian team travelling to Taunton, Bristol, Worcester, Chelmsford, Canterbury, and Hove.

CEO of the ECB, Tom Harrison, said “As much as we remain hopeful that we can deliver some cricket this summer, we are in the midst of a worldwide crisis and our priority – over and above the playing of professional sport – will be to protect the vulnerable, key workers and society as a whole”.
